We spent most of our careers inside a nationally ranked public accounting firm, Eric building a real estate practice and Fernando building an international one. Along the way we learned that the most valuable thing a CPA can be is not a tax preparer. It is a trusted advisor: the person a family calls before the big decision, not after it.
Our clients taught us that. They came to us for real estate or cross-border expertise, then trusted us with everything else: the business they were growing, the properties they were adding, the estate they were planning, the next generation they were preparing. Year after year, we found ourselves advising on the whole picture of their lives.
We wanted to do more. More time to think ahead. More freedom to bring every discipline to the table at once. More room to build the kind of relationship where a family knows its advisor will be there for the next twenty years, and the twenty after that.
